The team at Cogniom are proud to present
Cogniom Community Projects.
At Cogniom, we are passionate about helping others and making a difference for the betterment of all. Not only do we strive to achieve this with our business offerings, but it’s also deeply ingrained in our company culture and team values.
So it was a no brainer when the opportunity arose to give back to our community and partner with organisations who are on a mission to change the world.
Cogniom Community Projects is nestled very closely in our hearts and we hope you’ll help support and follow the journeys of these amazing organisations.
Meet Dr Nova Evans and Nursing Direct Sonia Goodwin.
They are on a mission: To provide healthcare to those sleeping rough and doing it tough.
Sunny Street offers the chance for people to take the time and have a conversation with a Doctor and/or a nurse regarding their own lived experience of their unique health journey, their understanding of their health concerns/issues and their capacity to take action and affect their life in a positive and independent way.
Nova and Sonia are excited about healthcare disruption, thinking outside the box for solutions to challenges and actioning change.
Meet Norman McGillivray. He is an all round awesome guy!
The aim of Beddown is to take spaces that are commonly used and busy during the day, but at night are left vacant or empty. Beddown activates and re-pourposes the space at night into pop-up accommodation to ensure the homeless and those who are sleeping rough are able to come and get into a bed at night.
Beddown are partnering with Australia’s largest car park operator, Secure Parking, who operte over 600 car parks across Australia and New Zealand. Secure Parking will be working closely with us to conduct a trial of Beddown pop-up accomodation in Brisbane CBD car parks before rolling out wider across Australia.
Hummingbird House is Queensland’s only children’s hospice. The house delivers best practice paediatric palliative care for children affected by life-limiting conditions and their families. It provides access to short break stays, family support services, creative therapies, and care at the end of life, and works to meet the needs of each individual child and their family.
Hummingbird House ensures that children can have a break from hospitals and daily routines, and that parents have the opportunity to gain a few hours of undisturbed sleep and the chance to be mum or dad to all their children rather than the exhausted 24/7 medical carer. It is a medically supported home away from home, where kids can be kids, families can reconnect, and, memories can be created to last a lifetime.
